Sweet, Intimate Motherhood Session with Xilo Photography in Oakland, CA

 

In this sweet and silly indoor Motherhood Session photoshoot in Oakland, CA, we focused on documenting mama and two-year old’s nursing connection. We wanted to capture the end of a beautiful and intimate journey they had shared for more than two years. Their relaxed, kind, and playful connection was inspiring to witness and such a delight to document. 

 

 

We began documenting in the main bedroom as the two snuggled together, jumped on the bed, and shared lots of stories. Memories of their late mother and grandmother were softened by the tenderness of their connection. The filtered, moody light that streamed into the bedroom highlighted the precious moments between them and provided beautiful opportunities to capture their love.

 

 

The closeness between mama and toddler throughout the entire session made documenting their relationship a breeze… Their connection was nothing short of powerful and pronounced. And the way they interacted with one another was so pure and full of love.

 

 

Moving into the living room, we captured some additional nursing moments to more fully remember this connection after weaning. The two cuddled and nursed together playfully in their favorite spot on the couch. The warmth, vibrancy, and comfortability in those moments made it seem as though they could be there together forever. This motherhood session was lovely to document
